Additional Remarks

  • A fantastic and well-kept Cessna 170B based in Yorkshire.
  • I've owned this 170B for the past 3 years and in truth I absolutely love it - we've been camping, visited friends, landed on farm strips, farmer's fields, and tarmac runways - it really does do it all and has been an absolute joy to own.
  • I've implemented a number of modifications in the short time I've owned the 170B including, most immediately obviously, the 26" Alaska Bushwheels - but look closer and you'll see numerous "quality of life" improvements such as the BAS tail-pull handles (which retract into the fuselage when not in use), BAS retractable reel harnesses in the front 2 seats, and Rosen tinted visors for those low-sun or bright days.
  • The large main wheels are complemented by the ABI "Baby Bushwheel" at the tail...fantastic for soft strips and preventing damage at the back.
  • Perhaps the least obvious but most important modifications have been to the wing - a full Sportsman STOL leading edge kit was fitted - painted inside and out - plus Stene Aviation drooped wingtips AND a MicroAerodynamics vortex generator kit applied to the wings and horizontal stabiliser.
  • These have absolutely TRANSFORMED the low speed handling - there is almost no stall now, just an incredibly low speed mush with the ailerons remaining effective. Needless to say landings are incredibly short. Check the attached videos for an idea of what’s possible.
  • In the cabin the old saggy headlining and goopy sound-deadening has all been removed and then the whole interior corrosion proofed, primed, and painted. The cabin floor has a hard wearing coating applied though the carpets are also still fitted.
  • A Selkirk extended baggage kit was fitted to lengthen the cargo area - with the rear seats removed you can now lay down in the back!
  • In summary this is a wonderful 170B with lots of the desirable “Alaska”/bush mods already fitted - any inspection welcome.
  • All the modifications are STC'd and all have been installed brand new within the past 3 years.
  • See Instagram @thebestcessna
  • Times expected to increase as aircraft still being flown.
